ASHFIELD, SYDNEY – Simplybraces, a leading orthodontic center, has officially launched the Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness Campaign, a charitable initiative dedicated to helping individuals with cleft lip and palate conditions. Specialist orthodontist Dr. Gareth Ho, with over twenty years of experience, inaugurated the campaign at the newly opened Ashfield clinic on November 25, 2023.
The Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness Campaign, running from November 25 to December 25, aims to provide complimentary face-to-face consultations for five eligible patients under the age of 22 with cleft lip and palate. Notably, one patient will be chosen to receive specialized orthodontic treatment in order to reveal their radiant smile.
Dr. Ho, a dedicated supporter of the “Give A Smile” program by the Australian Society of Orthodontists since 2005. He emphasizes the impact of cleft lip and palate on patients and their families. With one in every 800 newborns affected in Australia, the campaign seeks to address missing and misaligned teeth, affecting self-confidence, speech, learning, and social interactions.
Simplybraces encourages community members to spread awareness of the initiative and ensure eligible patients in the Chinese community access the Medicare Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Scheme for support.
The newly relocated Ashfield orthodontic center, equipped with advanced digital orthodontic equipment and Al technology, marks Simplybraces as one of the digital orthodontic centers in Sydney. The grand opening on November 25 featured distinguished guests, a lion dance performance, and a tour showcasing world-class facilities.
Dr. Ho hopes to draw attention to cleft lip patients who can benefit from the Medicare Cleft Palate Scheme. Simplybraces Orthodontic Centre is located at Shop 8, Phoenix Arcade, 2A Brown Street, Ashfield, opposite the station’s south exit.
